Dr. Andrea F. Douglas
Board-Certified Neurosurgeon
20+ Years Transforming Neurological Care
Dr. Andrea Douglas has devoted her career to caring for patients with complex spine and neurological conditions.
Her clinical work has always been shaped by a simple truth: serious medical decisions are rarely experienced by patients as isolated clinical events. They unfold over time, often under pressure, and often with families carrying a substantial share of the burden.
Compass Neuro was created to meet that reality more thoughtfully.
Through Compass Neuro, Dr. Douglas offers a model of care that combines deep clinical expertise with time, context, and a more human approach to decision-making.

A Commitment to Giving Back -- And Lifting Others Forward
Dr. Douglas believes that caring for people extends far beyond the operating room. Her work as a neurosurgeon is deeply connected to her lifelong passion for expanding educational opportunities and opening doors for the next generation—especially young girls who dream of careers in science and medicine.
Nearly two decades ago, she established the Andrea F. Douglas Scholarship Fund to support students in her home island of St. Kitts. What began as a small initiative to provide school supplies has grown into a program that helps children stay enrolled, stay motivated, and stay on track through middle and high school. Many of these students are now pursuing higher education and creating brighter futures for themselves and their communities.
Here in the United States, Dr. Douglas continues her mission to make STEM more accessible. She partners with middle schools throughout the New York tristate area to bring real surgical tools and spine-surgery technology directly into the classroom—giving students a rare, hands-on look at what a career in medicine can be. She has mentored countless young scholars over the years, with many of them going on to careers in healthcare, neuroscience, and scientific research.
For Dr. Douglas, philanthropy is not a side project—it is part of who she is. Her dedication to healing, teaching, and uplifting others is woven into every aspect of her practice, and she brings that same compassion and purpose to every patient she cares for.
